‘To blow the earth or anything self-clear; Moisture and color and odor thicken here. The hours of daylight gather atmosphere.' Robert Frost, Atmosphere
Anke Roder explores the horizon as a place of light, silence, and reflection. Her seascapes and landscapes capture the subtle transitions of time—the shimmer of light in sky and water, and the quiet rhythm of nature.
Light falls low over the land, dynamic and constantly shifting. During a walk, one can clearly observe this continuous transformation of atmosphere, light, and colour: moments when light adds a special accent to the landscape, clouds drift, and colours suddenly flare up. At other times the wind rises, and the entire surface of the water changes from light to dark, shadowed by the pattern of the waves.
