Temporary Structure, Clearing I, Oil on panel, 70 x 120 cm
Andrew Mackenzie is a painter whose work mines a territory between abstraction and representation. His work responds to relationships between landscape and the built environment, focusing often on rivers, reservoirs, tree forms, the edges of fields, car parks and roads, combined with diagrammatic suggestions of manmade structures or open frameworks.

l-011, Oil on linen over board, 20.5 x 15.5 cm

Eric Cruikshank takes landscape as an initial starting point within his practice. His drawings and paintings are not about literal presentation; instead, the focus is on the emotive qualities of place. Using an objective palette tied to the Scottish landscape, colour acts as a vehicle to reveal the picture planes underlying points of reference. Light From a Shared Space will be Eric’s debut show with the gallery this coming August.

Andrew Clausen began his artistic training in Southern California, followed by 13 years in Italy where he worked alongside master artisans and developed his craft into a tuned combination of conceptual ideas and refined use of materials. Cast concrete and fabricated metals are his primary mediums which are used to form works that span between minimalist thought-provoking objects to engaging fabrications. He currently lives and works in the city of Arnhem, Netherlands.

sundown wadden, Encaustic and oils on board, 20.5 x 20.5 cm
Anke Roder lives and works on the coastal plains, near Groningen, in northern Holland, where the landscape, pared back to an austere simplicity, has inspired her with two rich seams to mine – seascapes and plants. Her encaustic seascapes, sensuous satin slabs anchored along a welded horizon, ooze light. This July the gallery is pleased to host Anke's debut solo exhibition in Scotland.
