JFK Turner’s practice explores the relationship between images, objects and the everyday. He collects discarded materials from streets and waste ground, transforming them into drawings, prints and sculptural works using materials such as cardboard, wax and wood.
Blurring the boundaries between painting and sculpture, Turner works within self-imposed limitations to explore how familiar objects can take on new meanings when removed from their original context. His practice returns to the idea that pulling at one small thread can reveal something much larger.
Originally from Manchester, Turner is now based in Lewes. He studied Fine Art at Southampton Institute and has exhibited with &Gallery since 2018.
